Naomi Harvey

Born and educated in Cornwall, Naomi studied with William McAlpine at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, since when she has enjoyed a varied and successful career both on the concert platform and in the theatre. 

Recent concert engagements include the Verdi Requiem, Tippett's Child Of Our Time, Britten's Spring Symhony and Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony at the Barbican Hall; the 8th Symphony by Mahler at the Royal Festival Hall and The Burning Road by Will Todd at The Sage, Gateshead.

Naomi appears regularly on Friday Night is Music Night for BBC Radio 2, and her recordings include; Simply Opera with the RPO, Country House Opera with the London Musici ; Love Unspoken with the Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra, and the voice of Sara Crowe in the British film Caught in the Act, which was televised on BBC 2. 

She has enjoyed a long association with Welsh National Opera  where roles include Violetta (La Traviata), Desdemona (Otello), Cio Cio San (Madama Butterfly), Hanna Glawari (Merry Widow), Mdme. Larina (Eugene Onegin), Berta (Barber of Seville), Nedda (Pagliacci), Giorgetta (Il Tabarro), Liu (Turandot), Mimi (La Boheme), Pamina and First Lady (Magic Flute), Micaela and Frasquita (Carmen), and Flower Maiden (Parsifal).  For English National Opera she has performed Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte) and for English Touring Opera - Mimi and Musetta (La Boheme) and Alice Ford (Falstaff).  For Mid-Wales Opera she has sung the title role in Tosca and for Opera Holland Park Magda (The Consul), directed by Simon Callow.  Other roles include La Musica (Orfeo) at The Royal Opera House and Ismene (Mitridate) in Monte Carlo, The Countess (Marriage of Figaro), Marenka (The Bartered Bride), Olympia/Giulietta/Antonia (The Tales of Hoffmann), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus) at the QEH London and USA tour, Comtesse Adele (Conte Ory), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Norina (Don Pasquale), Magda (La Rondine), Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) and Kate Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly).  Naomi also sang Isabella Jobling in the world premiere of The Blackened Man by Will Todd at the Linbury Studio, ROH, and the Buxton Festival.
