Born in Northern Ireland, David began his musical training in the choir of St Patrick's Cathedral Armagh. David then spent seven years as a Lay Clerk at Norwich Cathedral, followed by almost 10 more as a Lay Vicar at Chichester Cathedral. He is now a full time primary school teacher at Rustington Community Primary School. He lives in Littlehampton with his partner Emma, their 3 children, and small menagerie of animals!
He has performed extensively around the world, including venues in Cape Town, San Francisco, Trondheim in Norway, Haarlem in The Netherlands and Rome.
Recent performances include Orff's Carmina Burana at the Watford Colosseum; Bach's Cantata 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben in Ripon Cathedral; Handel's Messiah in Norwich Cathedral; Bach's St John Passion (Evangelist) in Guildford Cathedral; Britten's St Nicolas in Romsey Abbey and Mozart's Requiem, in St Martin in the Fields and Bradford Grammar School.
In addition to this he has sung principal roles with Claxton Opera, including Mozart's Il Seraglio (Pedrillo), Thomas Arne's The Cooper (Colin), and Verdi's Falstaff (Fenton). While working with Claxton Opera, David was featured in the BBC documentary The man with an opera house in his living room.
