Andrew Morris

Andrew Morris has been a soloist in Italy (Batignano Opera Festival), France (Aix-en-Provence and Vezere Festivals), Ireland (Wexford Festival & Dublin Grand Opera) and in Belgium and Germany (with Pavilion Opera) and at various venues throughout the country and in Europe.  

Andrew was born in Clun, Shropshire on the Welsh border. He graduated with a degree in Archaeology and Environmental Studies from St. David's University college, Lampeter. He then spent two years in the Choir at Lincoln Cathedral before continuing his studies as a Post-Graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music with Ryland Davies. In his time at the RNCM he made the transition from baritone to tenor and currently studies with Nelly Miriciou. He has coached with Nicolai Gedda, Audrey Hyland and Laura Sarti.  

His operatic roles include Il Duca (Rigoletto), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Nemorino (L'Elisir d'Amore), Alfredo (La Traviata), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Rodolfo (La Boheme), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Signor Pirelli (Sweeney Todd), Lindoro (Italian Girl in Algiers), Ramiro (La Cenerentola), D'Azincourt (Fortunio)(for Grange Park Opera) and for English Touring Opera Tonio (Daughter of the Regiment) and Sellem (The Rake's Progress).  

He is much in demand as an Oratorio and Concert artist and has sung in Prague, at the Barbican, Fairfield Halls, St. John's, Smith Square, Worth Abbey and with numerous choirs throughout the country in repertoire ranging from Beethoven Missa Solemnis to Rossini Stabat Mater.  

Other performances include Don Jose (Carmen) for Opera Novella, Ernesto (Don Pasquale) on Tour and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Llantilio and Thaxted Festivals and for London Opera Players, Bach B Minor Mass with the Edinburgh Bach Choir and L'Elisir D'amore (Nemorino) and La Traviata (Alfredo) for Vox Lirika.
