Paul Badley

Paul has performed as a soloist with many of today's leading conductors:  Sir Simon Rattle, Richard Hickox, Serji Ozawa, Christopher Hogwood, Trevor Pinnock and Ivan Fischer. 

CD recordings include the title role in Ken Roberts' opera "Mr Butterfly", Percy Grainger's Part Songs with Richard Hickox, Mozart Requiem with The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and Rachmaninov's Vespers with Tenebrae. 

In 2007 Paul performed the role of Michael De Haughton-Tours in a new musical comedy "A Perfect Picnic" for Opera on the Run, based on the operatic music of Mozart.  He gave a master-class at The Bermuda Festival, performed Bach's Matthew Passion with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment conducted by Ivan Fischer, and gave performances of Finzi's Dies Natalis at the Fishguard Festival and Elgar's The Kingdom at The St. David's Festival.  He also performed Berlioz's L'Enfance du Christ for the first time. 

In contrast to his classical work he sang in Kurt Weil's "Die Todsunden" with Ute Lemper and recorded a rock album with Gregorian. 

In 2008 Paul performed Tamino (Magic Flute), Rossini's Italian Girl in Algiers with London Opera Productions, Gran Sacerdote (Idomeneo) with Europa Gallante.  Concert performances included Bach's Johannes Passion, Verdi's Requiem, Schubert's Mass in E Flat, Haydn's St.Cecelia Mass and Creation, Britten's St. Nicolas, Finzi's Dies Natalis and Vaughan Williams Hodie. 

In January this year Paul sang on a Canary Island cruise and in March cruised from Mexico to England.  Oratorio performances this year include performances of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Sancta Nicolai Messe, Handel's Judas Maccabeus, Israel in Egypt and Messiah, Bach's Magnificat and Britten's St. Nicolas.
